| Things
to do (Other than fishing or golfing!!)
- Visit
the world's friendliest border (known as the Three
Nations Bridge Crossing) which links Cornwall, Akwesasne
and the State of New York.
- Lighthouse
Landing is on the waterfront community of Glen Walter
which was founded in 1812. The area features historic
churches, cemeteries and homes. Our guests love to
visit the waterfront restaurants (just a minute away)
and sample their famous "perch rolls" while
watching water skiers and passing ships.
- Craft
and Antique stores, as well as shopping malls are
abundant in the area (excellent value for your dollar).
- The
Akwesasne Mohawk community is located on the islands
and mainland within the St. Lawrence River. You can
visit the community and explore the culture at the
Native North American Travelling College. Try your
luck at the Casino, its only a 15 minute drive from
us.
- Re-live
actual conditions in the area from the late 18th century
at Upper Canada Village and explore the Lost Villages.
- In
Massena, N.Y., you can see the Eisenhower Lock and
watch the raising and lowering of sea-going vessels.
- The
Glengarry Highland games and the North American Pipe
Band championships take place every year in Maxville
(approx 25 minutes north of Cornwall). Each year,
thousands travel to see the competitions. The sights
and sounds are unforgettable.
